CENSOR SWEAR WORDS IN SPOKEN AUDIO OR A SONG
Podcasts, interviews, and voiceovers work best. Singing, music, layered vocals, effects, and other non-speech audio can be less reliable than clear spoken words. Bleep does not separate vocals from the backing track: bleeping or muting a moment also affects the music in that part of the recording.
HOW TO MAKE A CLEAN VERSION OF A SONG
1. Choose your workflow. Use a short MP3, WAV, or M4A clip in a supported desktop browser, or create a Studio account for cloud processing on a phone or for longer recordings. Studio uploads your file and saves a project; available usage depends on your plan.
2. Listen and review the transcript. Check the lyrics against the recording. Select the words you want to censor, and check every repeated verse or chorus. An empty or incomplete transcript does not mean the song contains no profanity.
3. Add missed moments manually. If transcription finishes but misses a lyric, select its time range instead. Include the whole word, including a held syllable, then listen around both ends of the selection. If the file cannot be processed, try a compatible shorter clip before continuing.
4. Choose bleep or silence. A bleep replaces the selected audio with a censor sound; silence mutes it. Neither option preserves a separate instrumental underneath the removed word. For that result, use separately available vocal and instrumental tracks in a multitrack editor.
5. Preview and download. Listen through the edited recording, adjust any missed or overly broad selections, then export and check the downloaded file. Keep your original so you can revise the edit later.

Can I censor audio online for free?
Yes. On a capable desktop, browser mode can process supported short audio files up to about 10 minutes without an account. Processing time and successful decoding vary by file, browser, codec, and device.
What audio formats are supported?
Browser mode accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, and MOV, then exports clean WAV or MP4. Studio cloud also accepts WebM for longer recordings.
Can I censor a podcast episode?
Yes. Upload your podcast recording (MP3 or supported media), review the AI transcript, select words to bleep, and download the censored version. Processing time depends on file length, browser capability, and whether you use Studio cloud processing.
Is my audio private?
Short browser-mode files can be processed locally on your device with WebAssembly. For longer files or phone uploads, Studio cloud processing clearly indicates when upload-based processing is used.
How accurate is the transcription?
Whisper AI works best with clear speech and minimal background noise. Accuracy varies with accents, overlapping speakers, and audio quality. You can always manually adjust the transcript.
Can I create a clean version of a song or interview?
You can bleep words detected by the AI transcription. Clear spoken interviews work best. Clear-vocal song clips may transcribe, but singing, music, layered vocals, and effects are less reliable. Review the timestamps, add missed selections manually, and preview every edit before export.
What bleep sounds are available?
Classic TV bleep, brown noise, dolphin chirps, T-Rex roar, and silence are available in the censor workflow. You can adjust bleep volume and buffer timing before export.
Does this work for long podcast episodes?
